º£½ÇÉçÇø

Through the Chancellor's Doctoral Incentive Program (CDIP), the California State University (º£½ÇÉçÇø) provides support to doctoral students to help them turn their faculty aspirations into reality through º£½ÇÉçÇø faculty mentorship, professional development, and financial assistance. Each of the applicants selected will be designated as a CDIP Fellow and collaborate with their º£½ÇÉçÇø faculty mentor to complement the doctoral studies with activities that prepare them for a rewarding career in the º£½ÇÉçÇø or institutions similarly focused on student success.

Program Details

  • Optional loans available in amounts of up to $10,000 per year up to a total of $30,000.
  • Loans obtained through this program are repayable over a 15-year period, commencing one year after completion of or withdrawal from full time doctoral study.
  • If a participant applies, competes for, and is hired in a º£½ÇÉçÇø instructional faculty position after completion of the doctoral degree, 20 percent of the loan will be forgiven for each year of full-time postdoctoral teaching employment in the º£½ÇÉçÇø.
  • Part-time teaching in the º£½ÇÉçÇø may also be considered for partial loan forgiveness, if the participant teaches at least half-time and has successfully completed the doctorate degree.
