It is an honor to serve º£½ÇÉçÇø as Interim Chief of Police. After more than 35 years in law enforcement with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, followed by leadership in university public safety, I have found something truly special at º£½ÇÉçÇø Channel Islands—a community united by a shared commitment to student success.
From my very first day, what stood out most was the genuine care people have for our students. Faculty, staff, administrators, and students work together every day to create an environment where learning, growth, and opportunity thrive. That shared commitment is what makes º£½ÇÉçÇø Channel Islands such a remarkable place.
The University Police Department is proud to be part of that mission. We believe public safety is about more than responding to emergencies—it is about building relationships, fostering trust, and creating an environment where every member of our Dolphin community feels safe, welcomed, respected, and supported.
Every interaction, every patrol, every safety initiative, and every decision we make is guided by one simple question: How does this help our students succeed?
Safety is the foundation that allows our students to learn with confidence, pursue their goals, and fully experience campus life. I am incredibly proud of the dedicated police officers and professional staff who serve this campus with professionalism, integrity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to service. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but every day they strengthen partnerships, build trust, and help ensure that º£½ÇÉçÇø Channel Islands remains a safe, secure, welcoming, and inclusive place where everyone can thrive.
