After-Hours Uber Voucher Program - Safe Transportation When the Bus Is Unavailable

The After-Hours Transit Voucher Program provides º£½ÇÉçÇø Channel Islands students/faculty/staff with a limited, safety-focused transportation option during late-night hours when campus bus service is not operating.

This program is designed to support transit-dependent students/faculty/staff and help ensure safe travel to and from designated bus stops.

What the Program Offers

    • A safe last-mile transportation option after bus service ends
    • Support for students/faculty/staff who rely on the bus during the day
    • Clearly defined eligibility and usage rules
    • Oversight to ensure fairness and sustainability

The program is designed to:

    • Improve safety during late-night hours
    • Address service gaps when the bus is not operating
    • Support transit-dependent students/faculty/staff equitably
    • Provide a cost-effective alternative to extending bus service
    • Maintain accountability through defined controls and monitoring

Who Is Eligible?

To participate in the After-Hours Uber Voucher Program, students/faculty/staff must meet all of the following requirements:

    • Be currently enrolled/employed at º£½ÇÉçÇø Channel Islands and in good standing
    • Demonstrate regular use of the VCTC bus during daytime hours
    • Be physically present at an approved bus stop during authorized after-hours (5pm - 10pm Monday through Friday)
    • Use the program only for approved destinations
    • Must fill out voucher request and be approved (apply here:)
    • Must have or sign up for an Uber account – does require a credit/debit card or prepaid Visa/Mastercard (sign up here:)

Meeting eligibility requirements does not guarantee access. Program participation is subject to funding availability and compliance with all rules.

Approved Locations

Voucher use is limited to rides that originate from one or end at of the following approved locations:

    • º£½ÇÉçÇø Channel Islands
    • Camarillo Metrolink Station
    • Oxnard C Street Transit Center
    • Oxnard College Transit Center

Rides must begin at one of these locations during approved after-hours time windows. Trips to non-approved destinations are not permitted.
