About the Academic Scheduling
Creating a schedule of classes is more than just filling time slots - it’s about designing an academic experience that supports student success. A truly effective schedule puts students at the center, ensuring that courses are offered at times, in formats, and in sequences that align with their needs, goals, and pathways to completion. By carefully balancing course availability, program requirements, and student demand, we can remove barriers to enrollment, improve access to high-demand courses, and help students progress toward graduation on time.
The Academic Scheduling Office plays a central role in this process. Its purpose is to coordinate the development of the schedule of classes across academic departments, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with institutional policies and priorities. Housed with the Registrar's Office, Academic Scheduling works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators to manage classroom space, optimize course offerings, and use data to inform decisions that enhance the student experience.
We endeavor to provide the resources, strategies, and best practices that academic departments need for building a student-centered schedule of classes. Whether you are coordinating departmental offerings, reviewing enrollment trends, or seeking tools to make data-informed decisions, the goal is the same: to create a schedule that empowers students to succeed and thrive.
