Who is Eligible for WUE at º£½ÇÉçÇøCI?
To be considered for the WUE tuition rate at º£½ÇÉçÇøCI, you must be a resident of one of the following WICHE member states or U.S. insular areas:

Alaska, American Samoa, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, Republic of Marshall Islands, Republic of Palau, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.

In addition to residency, eligible students must meet the following criteria:

• Be a new incoming first-year or junior transfer student applying for their first bachelor's degree. (Students pursuing a second bachelor's degree or graduate degree are not eligible for WUE.) with GPA of 2.5 and above.
• Be admitted to Cal State Channel Islands for a WUE-eligible major.
• Maintain full-time enrollment (at least 15 units) each semester that you attend.
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress and remain in good academic standing with the University.
• Maintain non-California residency status for California Tuition Purposes.

How to Apply for WUE at º£½ÇÉçÇøCI

It takes four steps to apply for the WUE program at º£½ÇÉçÇøCI:

1. Check to see if you are .
2. Complete . Please note that there is no additional application for WUE program - New undergraduate applicants who are residents of eligible WICHE states and territories are automatically considered for WUE upon application to º£½ÇÉçÇøCI.
3. Check myCI portal for the admission decision. Once admitted, complete your intent to enroll process.
4. Complete WUE contact

When Will I Know if I Am Eligible for the WUE Program?

• Fall Admission: WUE-eligible students are typically notified by mid-April.
• Spring Admission: WUE-eligible students are typically notified by mid-November.

Notification of your WUE eligibility will be included in your admission offer from º£½ÇÉçÇøCI.

Maintaining Your WUE Status
To continue receiving the WUE tuition rate while enrolled at º£½ÇÉçÇøCI, students must:

• Maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the University.
• Maintain continuous full-time enrollment (at least 15 units in fall and spring semesters).
• Maintain non-California residency status for California Tuition Purposes.

Important Considerations:

• Establishing California Residency: Time spent attending º£½ÇÉçÇøCI as a WUE participant does not count toward the physical presence requirement for establishing California residency for º£½ÇÉçÇø tuition purposes. If you later choose to pursue California residency, you will no longer qualify for the WUE discount.
• Duration of Eligibility:
• First-time Freshmen: May receive the WUE discount for up to four years (from the first term of enrollment) or until the completion of their bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first.
• Transfer Students: May receive the WUE discount for up to two years (from the first term of enrollment) or until the completion of their bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first.

Opting Out of WUE: Students may opt out of the WUE program, but this decision must be made before the end of their first term of enrollment at º£½ÇÉçÇøCI. Once you opt out, you cannot rejoin the WUE program later. If you have already received the WUE tuition discount for a term, opting out will remove the discount, and you will be charged the full non-California resident tuition rate for that term. Any difference will be added to your student financial account.
