Complete the Application for Graduation, available online through your myCI Student Center in CI Records. Please allow a minimum of 24 hours for the $50 Graduation Application Fee to post to your account. Below are the deadlines to submit the application for the term in which you will complete all degree requirements and coursework.

Submit any outstanding Official Transcripts, General Education Course Substitutions (PDF, 184kb), Petitions for Exception (PDF, 61kb), or other required documentation to the Registrar’s Office.

Update your mailing address in, under CI records.Fromyour student dashboard, click 'My Profile' in the left side menu and then select 'Contact Info,' to update your mailing address.

Update the name on your diploma, if needed. Check that if your name is correct by viewing your Primary Name in CI Records.From your CI Records dashboard, navigateto 'My Profile'in the left side menu and then selecting ‘Biographical Information’. If your name is incorrect, please fill out the hyperlinked form above.

Check for any holds on your account and clear them with the appropriate department.

Check your CI Degree Progress Report to make sure everything is complete. A green check mark indicates a requirement has been met.
It is the student's responsibility to submit the petition to participate in commencement if requesting an exception to the terms eligible for the commencement ceremony. For example if you will be graduating in Fall 2025 and would like to participate in commencement in May for Spring 2025 please submit the following:

To participate in a Commencement Ceremony, you must register through Tassel. Eligible graduates will receive an invitation to register to participate in Commencement via their campus email. Please note that registration should be completed no later than April 10, 2026.
To participate in cultural & affinity ceremonies, please indicate your interest within your Tassel registration.

Grad Fest will be held March 10 & 11 from 10am - 6pm in the Grand & Petit Salons.
Ceremony Attire
Candidates are encouraged to wear proper academic regalia in the Commencement Ceremonies. This includes a cap, gown, and tassel.
Bachelor's degree candidates should wear their tassel on the right side of the cap until the degree has been awarded. It is then changed to the left side.
Master’s, Doctoral, and Credential candidates should wear their tassel on the left.
Purchasing Cap and Gown
- Caps and gowns may be purchased during Grad Fest or at the Cove Bookstore after Grad Fest.

Diplomas will be ordered following verification of degree. Degree processing begins two weeks after grades post and it will take 6 - 8 weeks to confer degrees. The diplomas are mailed from a separate company and take up to one month to arrive. It will be mailed to the address on file with CI. Please check your CI Records account via myCI to verify that your mailing address is correct and up-to-date. Transcripts needed prior to the arrival of the diploma must be requested through the normal procedure.
Any questions concerning diplomas or your graduation status should be directed to the Registrar’s Office.
