DASS works in collaboration with Housing & Residential Education (HRE) to provide reasonable accommodations within the residence halls for students with disabilities.

Due Dates for Priority Review of On-Campus Housing Accommodations:

  Fall 2026 Spring 2026 Summer 2026
Returning Residents: Lived On Campus Before March 27, 2026 November 3, 2025 April 10, 2026
New Residents: First-Time Living On Campus May 15, 2026

Important Note: Certain housing accommodations are dependent on availability. Priority is granted to those who complete the entire application process by the posted due date(s). 

Students must complete the DASS Housing Application form each academic year to request accommodations for campus housing. Personal preferences for a specific village, floor, or residence hall location are not considered disability-related accommodations.

Steps to Apply for On-Campus Housing Accommodations

Step 1: Complete the HRE Housing application

Step 2: Gather your Supporting Documentation

  • Visit the Housing Accommodations Documentation webpage for more detailed information about the supporting documentation used to determine housing accommodations.
  • Providing documentation at the time of application supports a timely review. Applications submitted without documentation will be placed on hold until materials are received. 

Step 3: Complete the

  • Students who are unable to upload supporting documentation with their application may submit it using one of the following methods:
  • Revisions or Updates: Students cannot edit or add to a DASS Housing Accommodation Application once it has been submitted. If you need to make edits or additions, you must submit a new application.

Step 4: Meet with a DASS Counselor 

  • Once all required materials are received, DASS will contact the student to schedule a housing accommodations appointment.
  • A meeting with a DASS counselor is required to determine housing accommodation(s).
  • Applications submitted after the posted deadlines are reviewed based on housing availability and may be placed on a waiting list.

Additional Information

  • Academic and housing accommodations have separate applications. Apply for Academic Accommodations if you need support in class and class-related activities.
  • DASS will inform you of the decision concerning your housing accommodation request, and HRE will notify you of your housing placement.
  • The housing accommodation process usually takes 2–3 weeks, but more complex requests can take longer. Providing all requested supporting documentation will help the process go more efficiently.
