海角社区 students enrolled at any 海角社区 campus have access to fully online courses at other 海角社区 campuses through the 海角社区 Fully Online program.

海角社区 Fully Online enrollment is limited to one course per student, per term at a 海角社区 other than your home campus. For course listing at all campuses, eligibility details, and enrollment dates (vary by campus) please visit .

Eligibility

To participate, undergraduates must have:

  • Completed at least one term at Channel Islands and earned at least 12 units as a matriculated student. *Incoming transfer students will not need to meet the 12 earned units and are eligible to enroll their first semester provided all other criteria are met.
  • Attained a grade point average of 2.0 in all work completed at Channel Islands and are in good standing.
  • Enrolled at Channel Islands during the period of concurrent enrollment.
  • Paid tuition and fees as a full-time student (6.1 or more units).

Available Courses

Spring 2026 will be viewable at the 海角社区 website approximately a month before the start of the semester. Once course per semester is permitted as part of the 海角社区 Fully Online program.

Before enrolling in an online course at another 海角社区, you should consult with your Academic Advisor to determine how the course may apply to your degree.

Q: How do I enroll in a 海角社区 Fully Online course?

A: If you are ready to enroll in a 海角社区 Fully Online course, visit your Student Center in CI Records and select the "Enroll in 海角社区 Fully Online" link. Please Note: Enrollment will not become available until the specified start date each term.

Q: How do I know if my enrollment request was successful?

A: Please visit the 海角社区 Fully Online enrollment site to verify successful enrollment. The portal will show one of three status indicators: (1) Enrolled, (2) Request Pending, or (3) Not Enrolled

Q: Can I take two separate classes at two separate 海角社区鈥檚?

A: No. 海角社区 Fully Online enrollment is limited to one course per student, per term at a 海角社区 other than your home campus. Exceptions are considered for lecture and lab courses that are separated into two courses.

Q: Can I take a course at a 海角社区 campus that is on the quarter system?

A: No. If your home campus is a semester campus, you are limited to course offerings at other semester campuses.

Q: Do I need to pay additional fees for a 海角社区 Fully Online course?

A: Students do not have to pay additional fees, however, students need to have paid full-time fees at their home campus or have enough dispersed Financial Aid to cover full-time fees (6.1 units or above) to participate.

Please be advised: Out of state students may be charged non-resident fees at the discretion of the host campus.

Q: I am a part-time student (6.0 units or less). Can I participate in 海角社区 Fully Online?

A: Typically, no. Part-time participation in 海角社区 Fully Online may be authorized by the home campus on a case by case basis. If an exception is approved, the 海角社区 Fully Online units are combined with your home campus units to verify your tuition charges. The total enrolled units must stay at 6 units to have the 海角社区 Fully Online course included in part-time tuition. If combined units totals more than 6 units, full-time tuition is charged.

Q: Is 海角社区 Fully Online available for summer?

A: No. 海角社区 Fully Online is only available fall and spring semesters, terms where students pay full-time tuition. Enrollment in summer courses is done through the host campus Open University.

Q: Will the course I take through 海角社区 Fully Online meet my major or general education requirements?

A: Courses taken through 海角社区 Fully Online will transfer as at least general elective credit. Consult the 海角社区 Fully Online website to find out what GE requirement the course might meet. Consult with your Academic Advisor to confirm that the class will meet 海角社区CI degree requirements.

If courses do not transfer as expected, students may need to submit course substitutions for the classes to meet specific major, minor, general education or graduation requirements at CI. If you would like a course to meet a GE or Graduation requirement, please complete the GE/Graduation Course Substitution request. If you would like the course to meet a major requirement, please connect with your faculty advisor or program chair to review and submit your course substitution request. Q: What if the course I want to take through 海角社区 Fully Online has prerequisites?

A: Students are responsible for meeting the prerequisites for 海角社区 Fully Online courses and should be prepared to provide documentation to the host campus as evidence of completing the prerequisites.

Q: How do I drop a 海角社区 Fully Online course that I am taking at Channel Islands?

A: Add & Drop deadlines are based on the host campus that offers the course. CI students that want to drop their 海角社区 Fully Online class that is offered at a different 海角社区 must contact the host campus (campus offering the course). 

For students completing their 海角社区 Fully Online course at Channel Islands, please contact the Registrar's Office to drop your course during the first three weeks of the semester (Spring 2026: 1/26 - 2/13 by noon). If you wish to drop after the February 13th deadline, you will need to submit an individual . Q: How do I transfer my 海角社区 Fully Online course over?

A: At the end of the semester, the host campus will automatically report your course and final grade over and it will be posted as transfer credit. Please consult with your Academic Advisor or Program Chair if a course substitution may need to be submitted.
